The moon (ours) has another crater now, as of early this morning.
My 1440 news feed informed me this morning – first I’m hearing of it, by the way – thanks “mainstream” media – that SpaceX had a used 45-foot-long, 10,000-pound second-stage rocket just floating casually around space for the last year and a half, and this morning “forces of nature” hurled it at the moon.
Yeah, right.
It would appear that Elon Musk, possibly out of spite for its perceived lesser status to Mars in his eyes, bombed the moon on purpose with his leftover SpaceX trash.
“Atmospheric drag” was supposed to pull the giant cylinder back into Earth’s atmosphere after it was used, but SpaceX says conditions including “solar activity” redirected it toward the moon.
Solar activity. Right. The sun hates the moon. Probably for all the eclipses or whatever.
You know what also hasn’t been the victim of solar activity? You.

Sorry. Cheap shot. But, anyway, I’m not buying it, Elon. I think you hate the moon, for whatever weird Elon Musk-ish reason, and you decided to hit it with something. Does SpaceX go up and clean up their trash? No, they just hurl it at defenseless moons, apparently.
What must the SpaceX shareholders think of this? Probably nothing, since they bought shares of SpaceX in the first place. What did they think they were buying? What does the company do? What do they produce that they can sell? Nothing.
I’m pretty sure it wasn’t in the IPO’s prospectus that the company would be actively bombing the moon.
To be clear, had that been advertised, I would totally own SpaceX stock already. I desperately want to be a part of something this awesome!
Do I care why Elon hates the moon and loves Mars? Of course not.
Do I want to be able to tell people that a company I’m part owner of just slammed something the size of a school bus into the moon at 5,400 miles per hour, making a crater sixteen feet deep and one hundred feet wide? Of course I do!
I mean look at this footage, posted on X (formerly MySpace) by the man himself:
That was PHENOMENAL!
Let’s get more of this going!! I read in the article that China “accidentally” slammed one of their rocket pieces into the moon back in 2022, but it had broken apart and they created a pair of craters.
We can’t let China win in the race for new craters on the moon! With more funding from additional investors along with your crack engineering squad over there at Tesla, I think we can be making at least three or four craters with each effort.
I’m thinking we just start peppering it with high-velocity Cybertrucks… I mean, what good are they otherwise? They sure as hell aren’t trucks. Let’s use them for something EPIC!
You start strapping them to rockets and I’ll go talk to my wife about calling a stockbroker.
Let’s do this!
See you soon,
